Experience

I've tutored a variety of students in both a volunteer and professional capacity since I was in high school. Since then I have completed my masters in education while continuing to work with public school students both in Hawaii and Connecticut. I have the most experience in teaching and tutoring high school mathematics, and have been working as a long term substitute teacher teaching mathematics to 11th and 12th grade students at a high school in New Haven, Connecticut since the start of the 2014-2015 school year. In addition, I tutored two high school students in the Greater New Haven area in all subject areas. However, I moved back to Hawaii as of March 5, 2015 and am looking for new clients on Oahu. I also do Math SAT prep and earned a score of 750 when I took the exam as a high school student. However, my passion is history and cultural studies. I have always been interested in travel and cultures. I have traveled to 23 foreign countries and have studied 5 different languages. Most recently I was in Morocco for the summer as a participant in a Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad.

I was born and raised in Hawaii, and I just moved back after living and working in Connecticut for the last 6 years. I like to say I was raised in a classroom, because both my parents have teaching backgrounds so learning new things was my favorite pastime.
