I have a passion for learning and it is so fulfilling to educate others and see them succeeding academically. I have previous experience tutoring my fellow classmates while in high school and in college. I would help them prepare for exams, time management skills for completing assignments and improve their note taking. I would like to be a tutor because it is important for our future generations to get the best start as possible. I did not reach my level of academic comfort until after middle school and during that time I dealt with anxiety because of the pressure to stand out academically among my classmates. I now know that we all have different interests that will take us on different paths into adulthood and long-term careers, we just have to focus on what those passions may be! I have taken a variety of science, math and statistics courses that make me equipped to help students improve in those areas of study. Classes such as Marine Biology, Biological Oceanography, Fisheries Biology, Ecology, Behavioral Ecology, Ichthyology, Bio-statistics, Statistics as well as various scuba diving courses, boating and CPR which all involve high attention to detail. I have been an educator for about a year giving scientific talks to various age groups regarding the marine environment as an eco-tour guide. I enjoy taking complex information I have learned and studied to create my own informal lectures so that all can understand and take something interesting away. Again, our youth is our future and I believe it very important to spark a love of learning at a young age that will transcend many many years.

I am an outdoor enthusiast! I believe that this world has so much to teach us, only if we can pay attention to the littler details. Growing up in North Carolina we had plenty of access to rivers, streams, lakes, fields and trees where I began to grow a passion for nature. I went to college on the coast and from there really focused my interests in the ocean, vast and largely unexplored. It was an amazing program and really challenged me academically to strive for more knowledge and embrace my curiosity. I later moved to Puerto Rico for graduate school and I believe that is where I found my calling, I love island lifestyle and the people are so warm and welcoming. I spent 3 years studying tropical biology, reef fishes and bio-acoustics which allowed me the opportunity to travel and meet a wide range of scientific professionals. Now a recent graduate, I moved to Oahu Hawaii to seek opportunities in the Pacific, something I've been dreaming about for years, My goal is to help those who lack a sense of confidence in their academic performance to succeed and express a love for learning that can last a lifetime. I am able to tutor a wide range of age groups and skill level in biological sciences especially. If you are curious about other areas of study, feel free to ask me about my experience. After 7 years of college, sometimes I surprise myself from what I am able to retain, but I look forward to any challenge!
