Experience
Konnichiwa! I graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a triple major in Business, Economics, and Japanese Language and Culture. I was born in Japan, and have been speaking Japanese all throughout my life. During my time at the University of Puget Sound, I have studied abroad at Kanda University of International Studies for a semester in their Language Intensive Program. After graduation, I received a full scholarship to study Japanese at the Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language, where I completed the two-year program in one year and graduated in September 2017. I have also passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), both N2 and N1 within one year. During college, I resided in the Japanese Language Theme House on campus. Here, I helped run weekly conversation practice sessions, culture classes, and even cooking demonstrations. Studying abroad at a Japanese Language school, I also tutored elementary and intermediate level Japanese to fellow students. In total, I have lived roughly 9 years in Japan. I am not only familiar with the language, but also the cultural, social, and economical aspects of the country. I am extremely passionate about the Japanese language, culture, food, and so much more!
