Hobbies
As I myself have had to deal with the handicap of ADHD in my academic career, I feel i am well suited to helping those who suffer from the condition learn to excel academically in spite of their difficulties. I am a prolific reader, especially in speculative fiction, history, social science, and social justice issues. I have a broad and eclectic knowledge base, and can converse on a wide range of topics of interest. This helps me to show students the cross-connections between various fields of study and real world issues, since I believe that students are more motivated to learn when they understand how their learning will be useful and applicable in their lives.
