17 years of teaching in Higher Education, Professor and Mentor One of my favorite parts of teaching was being a mentor. Tutoring is very similar and the one on one builds a relationship between two people and allows better help for the student. In my nine years of higher education as a student I took classes across the spectrum; humanities, social sciences, lab sciences, math, performing arts, fine arts, and others.
