I have been a regular Substitute Teacher for three years at Niu Valley Middle School in East Oahu. I have discovered that I have a solid skill set regarding motivating young people to want to learn and I believe the best learning results from the enthusiasm for learning. I have a son in 9th grade and a daughter in the 7th grade whom I have had the incredible pleasure to teach on numerous occasions over these last few years........and many of their friends as well. I absolutely love teaching all of our kids and am currently working towards my permanent Teaching License in Mathematics! I am not an expert in Calculus but I am very capable in Trig, Geometry and Algebra and an expert in the Middle School fundamentals. I included reading and writing because, in addition to As in every math class I have taken, I also excelled in Creative Writing classes to the tune of being invited back by a professor to tutor some of her advanced writing classes in semesters following my graduation. I am an easy going individual with high ethical and moral standards and I treat each and every child as an individual and give them the respect they deserve as such. I do expect to be treated with respect as well and make this very clear when establishing our relationship. I do so in a manner that has, for the most part, endeared my students towards me. A win-win situation for everybody :)

I am a Lifelong resident of Honolulu who enjoys the outdoors. I love the ocean and lush green mountains and I spend as much time as I can enjoying our beautiful island. I am healthy and fit and do what I can to stay that way. I swim, surf, dive, hike and most other healthy activities people do in Hawaii :)
