Kelly G.
Private tutor in Honolulu, HI
Education
I graduated from Newbury Park High School in 2011 and now I am studying Public Health at Hawaii Pacific University. I studied abroad in Spain one summer, while I was still in high school. I plan to graduate Spring 2016 from HPU.
Experience
I currently tutor two girls in Algebra 2. I have taken AP tests, SAT tests, the ACT, SAT Subject tests and many practice tests associated with the ones above in high school. I love to tutor because the feeling of getting an answer right is so rewarding and I would like to be apart of that for another student. Learning, growing, and seeking knowledge is something I strive for everyday, so tutoring allows me to inspire others to do the same. Spanish, various math courses, and reading come easily to me, so I hope to help with those subjects. Anatomy and Physiology has been one of my favorite courses in college, as well as other courses relating to biology such as Nutrition. A fun fact about me is I also obtained my real estate salesperson license for California.

Hobbies
As much as I love education, I truly love the outdoors. In my spare time, when I am not tied up with school work I enjoy surfing, body surfing, diving for shells, SUPing, and mainly anything that involves the ocean. I also like to hike occasionally. I do restoration work at a fishpond as often as I can, and enjoy doing volunteer work that promotes the health of our coastal ecosystems and sustainability. I believe that studying and working hard in school is important, but building connections with people and learning outside of school is equally important. I am a very social person, and I like to take an interest in others and make them feel comfortable. I love working with children and love inspiring them to harness their passion in life.
