Experience

I just passed the Praxis II test for Middle School Mathematics and I would like to become a Math Teacher here in Oahu. I want to be a tutor so I can start teaching Math in a fun way and get kids excited about doing Math since it's a very important part of our lives and our future in education. I also want to gain more experience teaching while I'm in my prep program to becoming a full-time teacher. The reason I want to get into teaching Math comes from my love of numbers and when I won a Presidential Award in 7th grade for my outstanding math skills.

I'm a very active and busy person. Of course, I love the weather and the beaches here in Hawaii. I'm from California, but I love living in Hawaii. I've travelled to many different places in the world including Africa, Canada, the Caribbean, and much more. Seeing and being a part of different cultures all my life has given me a great perspective on life. I've been learning so much about the culture here in Hawaii and that makes me want to live my life here and that's why I want to stay here and give back by teaching something I love. I believe that Math is very important for kids growing up and especially for getting them ready for high school and college. I was lucky to have some great math teachers growing up and I hope to continue that trend here in Hawaii.
