With my experience in the classroom, I have learned that individual attention and support are integral for learning. Children have different learning styles and learn at different paces. They need one-on-one time with the teacher to learn to their full potential. Unfortunately, in the classroom I have 20+ kids to manage and time constraints prevent me from being able to give each kid the individual attention he/she needs. As a tutor, I can give students the individual attention and support they need to excel. I can pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses and work with them until they succeed. I am no longer restricted by time constraints, but rather I can work with the student as long as I need to until he/she understands. Tutoring allows me to help students reach their full potential in understanding and excelling in mathematics.

Hobbies
My hobbies and interests include volleyball, traveling, hiking, and spending time at the beach. I have played and coached volleyball since age 10 and was blessed to have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level at Westmont College. I really enjoy playing volleyball and it has also taught me a lot about hard work, team work, and perseverance. During my four years at Westmont College, I chose to spend a semester studying abroad in Lithuania. This opportunity allowed me to travel all over Eastern Europe and also learn about a very unique, special culture. Recently, I have also traveled to Japan and Korea, mainly to enjoy the delicious food! When I am not traveling, I love to explore the beautiful paradise of Oahu. Whether it is hiking, surfing, or just relaxing at the beach, I take advantage of every opportunity to breathe in the beauty of Hawai'i.
